A TherapySites alternative without the add-on tiers

TherapySites is one of the cheapest ways for a therapist to get a website, and for some practices that is exactly right. The catch shows up when you want the site to bring in clients: SEO, AI search, and reputation are separate, higher tiers. Here is a straight comparison.

When TherapySites is the right choice

  • You need a basic site at the lowest possible monthly cost.
  • You are just starting out and not yet ready to invest in growth.
  • You are comfortable doing your own marketing.

If that is you, stay. We would rather tell you now than sell you something you do not need.

Where growing practices hit limits

Growth costs extra, tier by tier

The $69 Core plan is a website. SEO starts at the $99 tier, "AI search optimization" at $207, social media at $266, and reputation management at $336, plus a $199 one-time design fee. Add-ons on top: HIPAA email and forms from $15/month, custom SEO content from $99, Google Ads from $600/month, Facebook Ads from $158/month, social media from $59/month. The total climbs fast once you want results.

Content they write stays theirs

You keep content you wrote yourself. Content TherapySites provides stays with them, so a practice that relied on their pages starts over when it leaves.

Read the contract

Their FAQ says you pay month by month, except promotional offers that require several months. Their terms (updated July 20, 2026) say "Twelve (12) month minimum commitment required if stated in your service agreement" and "All fees and charges are nonrefundable." Check yours before you sign or cancel.

Questions about leaving TherapySites

TherapySites has a $207 plan with AI search. Why pay $995?

If a template site plus a search add-on fills your caseload, stay. Our plan is for practices that want a custom site they own, specialty and location pages written for their market, Google Business Profile work, monthly reporting, and only one practice per area. That is a different job than a website tier.

Do I own my domain with TherapySites?

If you bought it yourself, yes. If TherapySites bought it for you, their FAQ says they own it and "can transfer ownership to you at any time for a small fee."

How long does switching take?

About a week to build and launch. Your current site stays up the whole time.
